CUPRA’s first fully-electric vehicle has endured temperatures of -30ºC just a few miles from the Arctic Circle during testing prior to its world premiere in May.
Nearly 19,000 test miles have been accumulated day and night to ensure the car delivers the best performance even in the most extreme conditions.
The dynamism of the Born has been a crucial aspect of its development and the Dynamic Chassis Control and different damper settings have been tested on the 6km2 frozen lake test circuit.
The inner part of the test track is more polished, the outer part less so, in order to promote sliding which enables the engineers to perfect the handling characteristics of Born.
Having successfully completed each of the 1,000 extreme tests, the Born’s technology, performance, dynamism, braking precision and comfort are now optimised for even the most severe climates.
