Jude Law co-stars with a vintage 1930s Delahaye 135S racing car in enchanting short film.
In the second instalment of the Gentleman’s Wager film series for Johnnie Walker Blue Label, two men (Law and Italian actor Giancarlo Giannini) enter a wager over a priceless car, which is not only the “trophy” for the wager, but also a Walker heirloom, having been owned by the family since the late 1930s.
In this beautifully shot short film by British director Jake Scott of Ridley Scott Associates, we follows Law’s efforts to win , racing the Delahaye through the scenic Italian hills to make it to Monaco by noon.
He encounters a number of challenges and distractions along the way, including damsel in distress (Chinese actress Zhao Wei), plus there are cameos from Formula 1 heroes Mika Häkkinen and Jenson Button.
“I’m thrilled to be in the driving seat for the second Gentleman’s Wager film,” said Jude.
“Being back on set with Giancarlo and also having the opportunity to work with the talented Zhao, was an absolute joy.
“That coupled with being behind the wheel of the Delahaye 135S racing car, driving through the rolling hills of Italy and out to Monaco, well… I consider myself a lucky man!”
