Car manufacturer, Vauxhall will be showing off their fastest vehicle over the August Bank holiday at Silverstone race circuit. The car, which features a 3000 bhp and 8.8-litre engine that is capable of reaching 0-60 mph in under a second, can be seen at the track.
The Red Victor 3 has been built around the 1960’s Vauxhall Victor FD and looks set to appear at next years MSA Pro-Modified Drag Racing meetings. To effectively compete in the events the car needs to reach a top speed of 240 mph in just over a quarter of a mile and plans to go from 0-240 in a warp speed, 6.5 seconds.
These impressive figures are all still theoretical at present as the team are still working on the final designs before the car starts next season’s races. The one main rule about the event is that all cars competing in the drag races have to be street legal and the Red Victor 3 team are planning to take it out on the road.
The car will only be a static display at present and will celebrate the joint work undertaken between the Red Victor team and VXR but visitors to Silverstone will be able to see what the designers have been able to do with this classic 1967 Vauxhall, turning it into a speedster worthy of the drag track.
Petrol heads can see the Red Victor 3 car at the Power Festival, Silverstone on 28th – 29th August 2010.
