Volkswagen service – new fixed price scheme

Dealer servicing has always been a critical issue in car maintenance but Vokswagen have set up a new scheme aimed at making it straight forward for customers to have their car maintained at a recognised VW dealer.

 Volkswagen service

The initiative, which is aimed at cars between the ages of three and 10 years old, is designed to make the process easier to understand, give piece of mind and at a competitive rate. They will include clear prices for fixed jobs, allowing for a transparent structure so customers can see the cost of parts, labour, oil and VAT.

The cost of a standard MOT on vehicles up to 2.0 litre will be £30, while a normal service will set owners back £119 at participating outlets. The other idea breaks down into three areas, maintenance, convenience and car care. Maintenance is the cover for routine aspects such as air-con, brakes and cambelt changes. Convenience is the little extras, courtesy car, pick up and drop off while your car is being serviced. The car care scheme is all about appearance, repairing stone dents, polishing up scratches or refurbishing alloy wheels.

They will also give any car that is in the workshop for over an hour a professional wash and wax and the interior thoroughly cleaned and vacuumed.

Volkswagen said the introduction was to allow for owners of older model cars to receive the same aftersales care as new owners. The transparent price structure meant that is was also easier for VW owners to budget for.
