Generally good first impressions for the new Ford Mondeo.
Ford launched its all-new Ford Mondeo this week and the first reviews are in.
The long-awaited car is available with prices starting from £20,795 and a huge range of engines, including the first Mondeo hybrid electric.
There’s also the debut of Ford’s Pedestrian Detection and adaptive LED headlights, enhanced Active Park Assist with Perpendicular Parking, and Active City Stop.
Further technology highlights include power tailgate, SYNC 2 connectivity and industry-first Inflatable Rear Seatbelt.
Here’s what the reviewers have said so far…
Telegraph – All in all, though, this new Mondeo is big, smooth and handles with more verve than anything else in the class. It might not be destined for huge sales success, but the Mondeo’s arrival in the UK is definitely a case of better late than never.
Auto Express – The new Ford Mondeo has been worth the wait. It is a far more mature and refined car than its predecessor – it feels modern, yet reassuringly familiar. In growing up, the Mondeo has lost a good deal of its driver’s car character – it’s no longer the sharpest steer in the class. However, the payoffs in manners make the sacrifice easy to swallow.
Autocar – The long-awaited all-new Ford Mondeo is finally here, and it’s a remarkably good car.
Motoring Research – The new Ford Mondeo looks the part and has the kit to appeal to buyers of more expensive rivals. The company has a tough challenge on its hands convincing BMW drivers that they do, in fact, want a Ford, but starting at £20,795, the Mondeo offers excellent value for money.
