New research from car recycling website Scrap Car Network indicates that Brits scrapped a third more cars in 2020, with the Ford Focus leading the way.
Some 10,000 more cars were scrapped in the past two years via the website, and a record 37,000 cars were consigned to car heaven last year.
The popular Ford Focus was the most scrapped car with 2,535 scrapped, closely followed by another Ford – this time the Fiesta (1,846).

“Scrapping cars is an interesting indication of driver’s changing tastes, there are no luxury models in this Top 10 so it looks like consumers still want to invest in their cars.”,” said Tazamul Sarodia from Scrap Car Network.
“No surprise though is the Ford Mondeo as the manufacturer announced it was no longer making the model.”
