Lexus named UK’s most satisfying car brand

Lexus RX 450h F Sport

Japanese premium brand Lexus has topped two Honest John Satisfaction Index 2020 league tables – for Most Satisfying Manufacturer and Most Reliable Manufacturer.

In the annual survey of 10,000 drivers, Lexus held off Skoda and Jaguar to take the Most Satisfying Manufacturer title and pipped SsangYong and Suzuki to be crowned Most Reliable Manufacturer.

South Korea’s Hyundai Ioniq, available as a hybrid, plug-in hybrid or 100% electric, was awarded Most Satisfying Car and praised for its ease of use, handling and build quality.

Car owners were invited to assess their vehicles in a variety of important areas including reliability, ride comfort, fuel economy, practicality and performance. They were also asked to provide feedback on build quality, ease of use and safety.

“Lexus has swept the competition aside with some truly exceptional owner ratings for reliability, comfort, ease of use and build quality,” said said Dan Powell, managing editor of HonestJohn.co.uk.

“In addition to taking the top prize at the Honest John Satisfaction Index 2020, Lexus was also rated as the best car brand for reliability in the UK. It’s a fantastic result and shows that Lexus is building high-quality cars that its customers can depend on.

“It was also a strong showing for Hyundai, with the Ioniq being rated as the most satisfying car model overall. Owners say the Ioniq is easy to use, practical and reliable.”

Lexus’s sister brand, Toyota, took the top two places in the Most Reliable Car category, thanks to strong showings from the Prius and Yaris.
