Seb tests Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge

F1 champ Sebastian Vettel shakes down the Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge prototype.

Infiniti has been pressing ahead with the evaluation of its Q50 Eau Rouge high-performance vehicle with a star-studded testing session – Sebastian Vettel was at the wheel in his role as the company’s Director of Performance.

The Q50 Eau Rouge concept was first shown at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show in January. More details were revealed at the Geneva International Motor Show, including its twin-turbocharged, 3.8-litre V6 petrol engine.

Predicted acceleration of 0-60mph in less than four seconds and a top speed of around 180mph will put the Q50 Eau Rouge firmly into the premier league of super-sports saloons.

The Red Bull F1 star tested the car at the Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire, putting the prototype through a challenging series of performance, handling and precision driving evaluations.

Vettel’s invaluable feedback will be engineered into the next stages of the prototype’s extensive development programme – testing components, packaging and viability.

Infiniti are expected to reveal more about the Eau Rouge later in April at the Beijing Auto Show.
