The all-new Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio has lapped the epic 12.9 mile Nürburgring Nordschleife in a record 7 minutes 51.7 seconds.
It’s the fastest time ever posted by a production SUV, beating the previous benchmark by a full eight seconds.
Alfa Romeo now holds two Nürburgring lap time records with its high-performance models – the Giulia Quadrifoglio and Stelvio Quadrifoglio.
Powered by a 2.9 V6 Twin-Turbo 510hp engine, the Stelvio Quadrifoglio boasts state-of-the-art technologies and Q4 all-wheel drive.
Italian driver Fabio Francia set the blisteringly fast lap – he also holds the Nürburgring track record for a four-door saloon with the Giulia Quadrifoglio, with a time of just 7 minutes and 32 seconds.
The flagship Stelvio Quadrifoglio will join the rest of the Stelvio range – Alfa Romeo’s first SUV – in the UK in early 2018.
