Abarth 695 Biposto revealed – and it’s the fastest Fiat 500 yet.
With a top speed of 143mph and billed as having the “best weight-to-power ratio” and “best acceleration” (0-62 mph in 5.9 sec) in its category, it’s the most extreme Abarth ever.
The 695 Biposto tips the scales at just 997kg and couples a 187bhp turbocharged 1.4-litre engine with a racebred H-pattern gearbox capable of superfast clutchless shifts.
Abarth calls it a “fusion of street and race car” and it inherits some seriously hardcore racing parts including an Akrapovic exhaust system, Extreme Shox adjustable shock absorbers, Abarth Corsa by Sabelt seats with 4-point seat belts, Brembo braking system, lightened 18-inch OZ rims and rear titanium roll bar by Poggipolini.
Outside the 695 Biposto is distinguished by more “muscular” front and rear bumpers, side skirts, wheel arches and spoiler and a new textured-effect matt grey colour. The bonnet has a specific design with two bumps, inspired by the classic 124 Abarth, while the mirror and post covers are made of carbon – just like the most prestigious supercars.
Abarth’s pocket rocket is due to hit showrooms before the end of the year.
