Small family hatchbacks and SUVs dominate the UK’s Top 10 fastest selling secondhand cars, according to new data.
Research released by AA Cars, the AA’s used car website, shows the Volkswagen’s Polo is the fastest selling car of the year so far, being advertised for the shortest length of time before being snapped up by eager buyers.

Motorists have also been quick to purchase Ford Fiestas and Peugeot 2008s, with the latter entering AA Cars’ quickest-selling car list for the first time.
The Ford Fiesta has been awarded the title of the most popular car of 2019 so far, with the hatchback outselling all other models. If the Fiesta continues to sell at this rate, 2019 will be the fifth year in a row that it has been Britain’s top-selling used car.

The Vauxhall Corsa and Ford Focus follow closely behind, two consistently popular models which have jostled for second and third place every year since 2015.
Overall, the most popular cars have remained largely unchanged since 2015, with the same 13 cars featuring in the list of the Top 10 most popular models, showing that Brits are generally very loyal when it comes to their motors.
“The fastest-selling cars list is a great indication of how the used car market continues to provide a huge range of makes and models, some of which were only introduced in the past six or seven years,” said James Fairclough, CEO of AA Cars.
“The Vauxhall Mokka, Peugeot 2008 and Peugeot 208, for instance, were only released relatively recently, meaning second-hand buyers are enjoying the benefits of much newer cars without the same price tag as a brand new vehicle.
“The availability of car finance has made it easier for drivers to pay for their cars, and has meant they have been able to upgrade to these nearly-new models.”
