This is what happens when you let a World Rally legend loose in a Bentley on a frozen lake.
Juha Kankkunen looks like he’s having a ball putting the all-wheel drive Flying Spur through its paces in Finland.
The four-time champion is one of the star attractions at this year’s Bentley Power on Ice event, 40 miles south of the Arctic Circle.
“It is remarkable to be able to drive a luxury sedan designed to deliver such great levels of refinement and comfort in these kind of harsh, wintery conditions and miles from the nearest roads,” said Kankkunen.
Bentley’s Power on Ice “driving school” gives customers the opportunity to test cars, including numerous Continental GT models, and receive one-on-one lessons in extreme conditions.
For me, there’s something amazingly outrageous about driving a 6.0-litre W12 luxury saloon on challenging circuits carved into frozen lakes. It’s reminiscent of the time James May and rally ace Kris Meeke took a Bentley Continental GT Speed rallying on Top Gear…
Over 2 tone drifting on ice, that 6.0-litre W12 sounds great!
